Awesome is the Lord Most High

Awesome is the Lord Most High Video Clips. Duration : 4.88 Mins.

Here is a good look into our middle school group at New Heights church in Vancouver. During worship we encourage the kids to worship their way with all their might, so that means standing on chairs. As a school of rock faculty member I believe in contemporary music as an incarnational tool of God. In Jesus, God took on flesh, and as John ch 1 tells us "he dwelt among us," as a specific man, in a specific time and culture. In modern worship music the church uses current music styles that are the heart music of the culture to return praise to God. Using rock music makes it easier for the new believer or the unbeliever to connect with the throughts and emotions of the church's worship of God for who he is and for what He has done for us. The challenge to the church always is to go beyond our own comfort zone of music preference or whatever to preach and live the gospel in the language of our culture. Does that mean I need to embrace punk or rap next . . . . If that's what it takes I should be willing. King David once approached a man to buy his property so that he could build a temple to the Lord on it. The man offered to donate the land, to which David replied, "Am I to give a gift to God which costs me nothing?" Each generation must make room for the next. As musicians in the church we should pay the price and learn the new sounds in order to serve both God and his people.
