Christening of the Christmas Tree We dance to the tree... The kids started it a few years back, they wanted to name the christmas tree.... It started with a White fake christmas tree about 5-6 feet tall, we decorated everything is blue and white, a very chill christmas, and the kids named the tree Jerje...LIke George but..different... Mariah got up and said "Ooga booga ooga booga Jerje Jerje" She said this about 5 times and by that time all the other kids joined in. Everyone was laughing and having so much fun. Now every year when we put up our christmas tree and get the lights on but no ornaments yet, we dance and pay homage to the tree. After this is done we can decorate with the ornaments, singing and dancing to christmas carols, kids sitting on peoples shoulders to reach the high places. People standing on chairs and on tables. This tree is a 10 and a half foot tree, a Douglas Fir, our first real tree in a few years and his name is Clouse. He is a very WELL decorated tree with red ones to the back and on one side and MANY up front in one spot in particular and then another side almost completely bare. He is a happy tree. It's one of many "weird" traditions my family has and one I will carry with me through my life and pass on. It's sorta like dancing with the turkey ~.^
